Young boys on festooned horses have ridden through Moravian villages since time immemorial. They prove to have grown into men as they are able to protect their young king in a girl’s costume. The king carries a rose between his lips. Nothing is more mysterious and ritual in Southeast Moravia than the ride of the kings.
