The Archeoscope represents the way forward as well as the return to the roots, into the pre-cinematographic times, the film prehistory. It is a special projection device for a thought-provoking live film performance. It is capable of projecting all classical film formats and a wide range of materials such as bandage rolls, adhesive tapes, laceworks or bubble foils. This ingenious device was made to experiment with film and can project all sorts of rhythmic structures and frequencies, intensities, colours and their combinations.
Don’t miss the Alchemy of Film Materials: Edit, Load and Screen! (August 2, 2018 / 15:30 – 17:00 / Reduta 3) workshop that will take place the following day (August 2, 15:30 – 17:00 Reduta Rehearsal Room) and will deal with the mechanisms of this unique projection apparatus!
