“I’m not Sissi. I’m Romy Schneider, an unhappy 42-year-old woman,” says the protagonist of the first Be2Can Starter film 3 Days in Quiberon. One of the latest festival premieres presented by Be2Can Starter will be introduced by Aleš Stuchlý and Vít “Sissyboy” Schmarc, who got so inspired that he reviewed the whole Schneider’s filmography.

3 Days in Quiberon competed at this year’s Berlinale and it has been said that it was mostly for its “austerity” why it didn’t win a prize. However, once you get into it and understand the last and perhaps the only sincere confession of the seemingly “burned-out” movie star, you will also reveal other film characters’ insights into those who performed them (Harry Potter’s one on Daniel Radcliff or Frodo’s one on Elijah Wood).

Romy Schneider went to Quiberon to rehab from her addition on alcohol. The black-and-white look of the film helps underline the weariness of Romy’s soul. She enjoys her last small pleasures and celebrations, love, faithful friendship and the moments of freedom at seaside cliffs, which had undesirable consequences to her. Or had not? Some accidents seem to be liberating. The film will come to theatres in October.
